Profit Gene" {Notice: They spelled the word
'genie' wrong} (aka
"Cash Secret Club") whose address is Unit 2,
15-17 Suite 866, PO Box 177 London, England N19DX or
5348 Vegas Drive, Suite 866, Las Vegas, Nevada,
89108 - depending upon who you talk to - is supposed to be a
company that helps people do business on eBay.
Although I've
been doing eBay for a while, I figured there was always something new to
learn, and so I signed up for the 7 day trial period and paid
$1.95 charged to my
PayPal™ Debit Card.
I knew that I had 7 days to decide if I was willing to pay an additional
$81.32 for the "service". Three days went by and I received no
CD in the snail-mail, no eMail communication, no
Web Site access ..... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I didn't see anything or receive anything
to "evaluate". I DID, however, get a notification two days
later, that
$81.32 had been charged {pending} to my
PayPal™ account (7
days had not YET
passed).
I called these people and gave them bloody hell.
After being
hung up on FOUR TIMES by their "customer service" at
866-699-8440 I made an audio recording of my

These people ARE a rip-off - they bury their "recurring charges"
statement in the
fine print under lengthy "terms and conditions". In addition, when you
sign up for $1.98 initially, you get NOTHING for
your money, any you will be charged
$81.32 the next day.

If You paid them with
PayPal™, also file a
complaint with
PayPal™ customer
service. When I called them, the representative said they were ahead of
the game, and sent me instructions on how to properly dispute BOTH
charges.
This is the message I received
from
PayPal™ within 3
days of filing my complaint:
We have received your affidavit regarding the loss
on your debit card
ending in xxxx
and were able to issue a chargeback to the
merchant,
"INTERNET PROFIT GENE 86." You should see a
credit to your
PayPal™
account
within one business day for the amount of $81.31 USD.
The merchant has 45 days to present
PayPal™
with a rebuttal. Otherwise, we
have concluded our investigation.
Thank you for your continued patience throughout our investigation.

A Few hours
later,

sent me another message:
Thank you for contacting
PayPal. This message is in addition to the email
just sent to notify you a chargeback has been processed for the disputed
charge to your debit card.
PayPal has issued a
credit of $0.81 to your account
for
reimbursement of
the foreign transaction fees
associated with disputed debit card charge.
Please expect this credit within 1-2 business days.
The next day, my
debit card was credited with the chargeback:

And so,
aside from the aggravation and the time lost pursuing this matter,
PayPal™
stood by me and made it
"like it never happened"
- financially, that is. I am now waiting for a response to my formal
complaint to the Nevada Attorney General and Experion - one of the
credit rating companies with whom I also filed a complaint.
When you get arrogant and cocky 'in my face', and
tell me I
can't do what I
tell you I
will do - I
love it. I did what I warned
them I would do, and I called these assholes on the evening of June 30th
to gloat. Next step: they get shut down - or at least their credit card
processing capability will be revoked. Right now, they will no longer be
able to process
PayPal™
payments.
And in case you're
wondering about MY liability in all of this (i.e.: can these
people sue me for posting this), they can
TRY.
In the words of the U.S. Supreme Court (the case citation escapes me)
"Truth
is an affirmative defense to a charge of libel or slander".
In this case, the TRUTH is borne out by the company's own documents, and
the telephone conversations I recorded.
