    These Assholes think I'm playin' - They think I'm bluffing! Well, guess what? When I say I'm gonna' do something, if you don't want it done, then see if you have the balls to sneak up behind me and bust a cap in my ass, because I DO WHAT I SAY I'M GONNA' DO. I railed on rip-off artists of this sort in a previous article, and it looks like I have to spend a few minutes here, doing the same thing to YET STILL ANOTHER ASSHOLE, who will REGRET he ever ran into me.

    This piece is about Ebay auctions - now don't get me wrong. Ebay is a great marketplace, and when the staff learns of a problem like this, they are quick to resolve it. In any event, my purchase is protected because I pay online with Paypal. Here's the story - short & sweet:

    I was watching an item I wanted on Ebay. As the clock ticked, it got to be 4AM in the morning, and although there were six bids on this 50mW LASER Pointer, the price wasn't moving. Perhaps everyone had gone to sleep.

HI, the shipping fee is 26GBp. You can pay it according to current exchange of USD to me or direct GBP.

If it is not 26gbp, how could you get it at 9gbp?

It is an auction, you have right not to bid it, it is your right. I am wondering why you have so much time to involve in this shipping case. You do not want to do business with me it is your right.

MY RESPONSE

I am writing you this letter because your ebay selling post DID NOT SAY what the S&H would be. It didn't even let me PAY for the item until I contacted you for S&H amount. As any REASONABLE person would, I did not bid the item to get a low price (which I did) only to be SCAMMED for over 4 TIMES what I paid to BUY the item to "SHIP" it. 26Bp is A YEAR'S SALARY in CHINA.... so please don't tell me what it costs because I'm on the FED-X Web site right now.

Because it is OBVIOUS to someone who ran a VERY successful Internet mail order business since 1994 (TelsonUSA), that you are making your profit by ripping people off on SHIPPING, that I am disputing your ebay ethics - it's the principle of the thing. I operated in good faith, and 50 USD to ship a PEN? I don't THINK SO!

If you agree to ship for $14 USD, you have a deal and I will post good comments, if not, then I WITHDRAW MY BID. I KNOW I can ship to CHINA, and to the most REMOTE parts of AFRICA by Fed-X for MUCH MUCH less. If we don't agree, then we will end up on ebay's dispute resolution, and this incident will be posted on my web site at www.AssholesAmongUs.com/ShippingAndHandling.htm  and indeed, I have ALREADY started it - go there and see.

And don't wonder why I have "so much time" - I DON'T - But I WILL NOT PUT UP with people who I try to do HONEST business with, telling me they pay 50 bucks to ship a PEN.

I treat MY customers fairly. I don't try to rip people off when I can't get the price I want for the items I am selling - I'll GIVE IT AWAY, and retain my dignity and my good name. I am NOT the person you want to fool around with - and if we can do business, I can steer more business your way than you can handle.
 

MATTER RESOLVED

    After I reported this incident to eBay's dispute section, the seller contacted me and we mutually agreed to end the transaction. He re-listed the item and changed his shipping price. It just goes to show you that making a stink and standing on principle sometimes (actually) works.
